Donation funds from Driftless Half Marathon assist with purchase of emergency response equipment at Lansing Swimming Pool ...

The Lansing Municipal Swimming Pool was the recipient of a $500 gift from organizers of the Driftless Half Marathon in early August. The gift was put to immediate good use with the purchase of a new, state of the art stabilization backboard (as pictured in the above photo), adult and child size bag valve masks for use in resuscitation, and a new stabilization strap for the accessibility chair lift that is available for use at the swimming pool.

The Driftless Half Marathon is committed to giving back to the community, with $37,000 in proceeds from the past eight years going to a variety of civic and emergency services and scholarships throughout Allamakee County. This year’s Driftless Half Marathon event is scheduled to be held Saturday, October 10, beginning at the Lansing Fire and Emergency Services building, and will offer Half Marathon, Half Marathon Relay, 10k and 5k races. The upcoming 2026 event marks the Driftless Half Marathon’s ninth year. Registration is already open and available to complete at www.driftlesshalfmarathon.com.
