Veterans Memorial Hospital Medical Clinic Open House scheduled for September 24
VMH Postville Clinic Open House is this Thursday ... The new VMH Postville Medical Clinic will open Monday, September 28, at 7 a.m. All area communities are invited to attend an open house Thursday, September 24 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The new clinic is located in the former Upper Explorerland building at 134 West Greene Street. Tours of the new facility will be offered plus wellness testing, clinic trivia and giveaways. Flu shots will also be offered to all adults attending the event. An open house will be hosted Thursday, September 24, for all area communities to attend at the new Postville Medical Clinic. The clinic will then open for patients the following Monday, September 28. Postville Clinic staff will host the open house from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The new Postville Clinic is located in the former Upper Explorerland building at 134 West Greene Street, right next door to the current clinic location.
Postville Clinic Trivia and giveaways will be offered throughout the night, along with complimentary blood pressure checks, blood sugar/diabetes tests and hemoglobin tests, all with immediate results. In addition, flu shots will also be offered for all adults attending the open house which is planned during the final Postville Farmer’s Market event for the season.
Tours of the new facility will be given by the clinic staff including Medical Assistants Selena Perez and Sandy Lopez, and Alisha Henderson, RN.
Many of the medical providers who care for patients in the clinic will also be on-site. Currently, the Postville Medical Clinic medical staff consists of Alex Berns, NP; Minji Ranson, NP; Hannah Kelly, NP; Mason Kerian, NP; Katy Maker, NP and Nurse Midwife, and now Dr. Olaitan Akinboboye has joined this team as a physician. He is available to see patients three days per week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Postville Medical Clinic. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, Tara Fink, PMHNP, and Angela Taylor, PMHNP, also provide behavioral health care at the clinic each week.
The Postville Medical Clinic has also extended its hours to Monday and Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins are always welcome. The Postville Clinic also remains open during the lunch hour.
Veterans Memorial Hospital credits the numerous donors to this project, surpassing the goal of $200,000, which made this dream a reality.
