To the Editor:
Everyone has an agenda. Agendas, or goals, are not always a bad thing. We can agree to disagree on certain views as they are laid out on the table. Hidden agendas, however, can present a real problem.
Organized religion, like politics, can have its agendas too. Sometimes these are hidden agendas.
As for myself, I am of the Christian religion, and I do admit I have my own agendas. But they are not hidden agendas. I have nothing to hide; I will lay them out right here. My life goal as a Christian is to evangelize the world. I eat, sleep, and breathe to see others converted to Christianity. I want to further this cause every chance I get.
Now, some may not appreciate my agenda and may be offended by it, but one thing is for sure: It is not hidden. All my cards are laid right out on the table.
If only this were the case with all organized religion, but sometimes it is not. There is a religion out there which I believe has many hidden agendas. This is a major world religion, but in America it is still a minority. Minority religions can have grandiose goals for the country they are in, and this religion definitely has those goals. Their strategy, as I have heard from a reliable source, is to infiltrate the political system in our country. As more and more of their number hold political office, their ideologies and laws will be forced upon us.
Presently, America is still officially a Christian nation (regardless of what a past president has said about our country not being one). But all that can be changed in a short period of time.
You doubt this is possible? Try conversing with some high school or college students to get an idea of their views toward the Jewish people. You may quickly see a drift toward extreme anti-semitism.
Where did their ideas come from, and who has been poisoning their minds? This is the upcoming generation; they will be making major political waves by their votes in the very near future.
Or what about the politician’s oath of office being done not with a hand on the Bible, but on the Koran? That will never happen, you say. But it has already happened, as the mayor of New York City was sworn in not many months ago.
Overnight, things can change. We wake up from our slumber and wonder what in the world has happened. Well, it has been brewing all along; we were just not aware of it.
A number of years ago a more liberal politician stated something like, “Well, some people may just have to change their beliefs.” When I heard that statement, I began to realize I am resistant to changing my beliefs. To the politicians and radical religious revolutionaries I say this: Sorry, but I will not go along with your agenda, because it is a hidden agenda.
You want to force me to accept a totally different world view than the Judeo-Christian ethic that is a very sacred part of my upbringing. I will not buy into it. Case closed.
