Dr. Chris and Heidi Goetzinger of Waverly announce the birth of their son, Sawyer Joel Goetzinger.  Sawyer was born June 23, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.  He weighed 7 lbs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth. He was welcomed home by his big brother, Grady (2).

Grandparents are Randy and Lori Hesse of Waukon, and Dave and Molly Goetzinger of Mason City.  Great-grandparents are Robert J. and Agnes Anderson of Waukon, LaVonne Hesse of Waukon, and Jim and Peggy Goetzinger of Boone.

Willis Johanningmeier will be celebrating his 95th birthday July 14. He was born July 14, 1921.

The 58th annual reunion of the James and Elizabeth Merrill Bulman families will be held Sunday, July 17 at the Eitzen Community Center in Eitzen, MN. A potluck dinner starts at 12:30 p.m. with a meeting afterwards.

The five Bulman ancestors who came from Little Thetford, England in the 1850s were Thomas, George, William, John and their sister, Mary Bulman Sadler. All descendants of these early settlers are cordially invited to attend this noon meal and reunion. Beverages will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring their own table service and family pictures to share.

Sunday morning church services will be held in the “home church,” Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, 2574 Church Road, rural New Albin at 10:30 a.m.

Lars Wayne Palmer and Jennifer Rose Votsmier, both of Waukon, exchanged vows February 6, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. The bride is the daughter of Chuck and Lois Votsmier of Waukon, and the groom is the son of Mark and Deb Palmer of Waukon.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and is a graduate of Kirkwood Community College with an AAS degree in Culinary Arts. She is employed at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.

The groom is a 2000 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and is a graduate of Iowa State University with a BS degree in Agricultural Systems Technology. He farms in Ludlow township, rural Waukon.

The bride was given away by her father, Chuck Votsmier. The Maid of Honor was Sarah Snitker, a friend of the bride, from Waukon. Bridesmaids were Lane Rich and Lindsey Lund, both of Waukon and sisters of the groom, and Leeta Sivesind, friend of the bride, also from Waukon.

Jared and Bailey Estebo of Lansing announce the birth of their son, Kohen James Estebo, born June 28, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 7 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins two sibilings, Keagen (6) and Kinlee (2).

Grandparents are Duane and Becki Estebo of Lansing, Dawn and John Burroughs of New Albin and Rory Schlitter of Prairie du Chien, WI. Great-grandparents are Jim and Lindy Howes of Waukon, Harvey and Betty Estebo of Waukon, Julie Wood of Lansing, John and Sharon Wood of Harpers Ferry and Dean Schlitter of Waukon.

Jordan and Hannah Young of Decorah announce the birth of their son, Weston Willet Young, born June 23, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 4.8 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a big brother, Colton (4), and a big sister, Kinley (2).

Grandparents are Willet and Rhonda Young of Decorah, Dean and Rhonda Hovden of Decorah, and Dennis and Kimberly Nath of Rochester, MN. Great-grandparents are Lavonne and the late Jesse Young of Waukon, the late Gerald and Dorothy Schacht of Decorah, Marvin and the late Donna Hovden of Decorah, and Ron and Diane Siebrands of Mason City.
 

Brad and Julie Miller of Cascade announce the birth of their daughter, Monica Helen Miller, born June 22, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 0 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins seven sisters, Samantha (15), Olivia  (9), Seraphia (8), Cecilia (6), Mariana (5), Clara (3) and Teresa (21 months).

Grandparents are Ron and Donna Miller of Cascade and Chuck and Patty Delaney of Cascade.

Ross Seitz and Alexandra Boose of Calmar announce the birth of their daughter, Rubi Jean Seitz, born June 16, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 6 ozs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Tom and Linda Boose of Waterville, Rod Seitz of Winona, MI and Brenda Monroe of Calmar.

Andy and Tara Stein of Lansing announce the birth of their son, Cael Christopher Stein, born June 15, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 13 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins two big sisters, Ashlyn (4) and Kaili (2).

Grandparents are Dan and Joan Lyons of Waukon and Al and Jeanne Stein of Lansing. Great-grandparents are Theresa Lyons of Waukon and Gerald and Janette Ryder-Blong of Waukon.
