The area Parkinson Support Group will meet Thursday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Hospital in the Lower Level Large Conference Room.
This local Parkinson Support Group is affiliated with the Wisconsin Parkinson Association (WPA) which is a regional center for the National Parkinson Foundation. The group welcomes anyone with Parkinson Disease to attend, as well as caregivers of a patient with Parkinson Disease, or any interested family member or friend.

Osteoarthritis of the Knee?

Veterans Memorial Hospital will be sponsoring a Blood Center of Iowa blood drive Wednesday, Feb. 9 at the hospital.
One single blood donation can save the lives of up to three sick or injured hospital patients. This is a great opportunity for first time donors to see how easy the blood donation process is. The donation process is simple:
1. Eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of fluids at least four hours prior to donating.
2. Bring proper identification, such as your donor card or a driver's license.

The doctors and staffs of Family Chiropractic Associates, Waukon Dental, and Veterans Memorial Hospital are proud to announce that they will be holding "Have a Heart Day" again this year. Area residents are encouraged to participate in the annual Have a Heart Day scheduled by area health care providers for the fifteenth year.
This event is scheduled during the Valentine's season as a community service project to provide services to those in need. The local healthcare providers appreciate the strong support they receive, so in turn look forward to this event each year.

Karen Egan and Eddie Frick were united in marriage Saturday, August 14, 2004, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Waukon. Rev. Joseph Schneider officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony.
Parents of the couple are John and Debbie Egan and Roger and Sue Frick, all of Waukon. Grandparents of the bride are Myrtle Egan of Harpers Ferry and Barb and Emmett Magner of Cedar Rapids. The groom's grandmother is Marian Frick of Nashua.

Ralph and Shirley Rathbon of Harpers Ferry and Dale and Gloria McCabe of Waukon wish to announce the marriage of their children, Teria Fenton and Tracy McCabe.
Both are graduates of Waukon Senior High. Teria is currently employed at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Tracy works for Reel-Core.
A ceremony is planned for Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon. A reception and dance will follow at the Waukon Fairgrounds Pavilion. The dance will be from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Matt and Julie Mettille of Decorah are proud to announce the birth of their daughter at Winneshiek County Hospital. Britann Elizabeth was born Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at 4:05 p.m. She was 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and 19.5 inches at birth.
Britann joins a sister, Olivia Elaine, age 2.
Grandparents are Jim and Connie Mettille of Lansing and Jerry and Pat Monroe of Castalia.

The Waukon Lion's Club is in the process of planning for their major annual fundraiser, the Lion's Variety Show. The show will be held Saturday, April 2, 2005, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Waukon Senior High auditorium.
The Lions are currently looking for individuals and groups who would like to participate.
