Lyle and Cindy Leikvold to celebrate 40th anniversary

Lyle and Cindy (Flage) Leikvold were married October 12, 1974 at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon. They plan to celebrate the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
They have two children, Kerri (Chris) Gibbs and Todd (Brianne) Leikvold. They also have three granddaughters, Kaylee, Kiersten and Kendra Gibbs, and are expecting the arrival of a grandson in December.

Jim and Alyce (Gordon) May were married October 4, 1974 in Waukon. They celebrated the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary with a Mississippi riverboat cruise.
They have three children, James (Leslie) May of Waterloo, Joe (Jill) May of Grundy Center and Jonathan (Nicki) May of Ankeny. They have seven grandchildren, Jaylin, James, Justice, Jake, Casey, Michael and Lukas.

Schwartzhoff, Ghelf joined in marriage in June 14 ceremony

Amy Schwartzhoff and Ben Ghelf were united in marriage June 14, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing by Father John Moser. The bride is the daughter of Stan and Dianna Schwartzhoff of Lansing and the granddaughter of Jim and Kay Hawes. The groom is the son of Ralph and Linda Ghelf of De Soto, WI and the grandson of Doris Koll.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Maid of Honor Erika Schwartzhoff, friend of the bride, and bridesmaids Donna Schwartzhoff and Ashley Schwartzhoff, both sisters-in-law of the bride, and friends of the bride Christina Verdon and Jocelyn Johnson. The Flower Girl was Faith Lange, niece and goddaughter of the groom. Usherettes were Amber DeCesare, sister of the groom, and Stacie Sanborn, cousin of the groom.

Roger and Diann Benzing to celebrate 50th anniversary

Roger and Diann Benzing of Gays Mills, WI were married October 10, 1964 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Garnavillo. They plan to celebrate the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, October 10 with a dance at the Natural Gait Lodge/Arena (located between Harpers Ferry and Monona at 274 Burger Road) from 6 to 10 p.m. Music will be provided by The Sounds of Nashville Band. All family and friends are welcome.
The couple has six children, Darren (Patty) Benzing of Solon, Ryan Benzing of McGregor, Dawn (Kevin) Langreck of Ridgeway, Rachell (Arlyn) Adney of Monona, Danette (Shawn) Gibbs of Waterville and Ryland (Shannon) Benzing of Waukon. They have 16 grandchildren.

Frank Thyer of Randalia will celebrate his 95th birthday October 7. He was born October 7, 1919 at Volga. He is a lifelong Volga and Randalia area resident where he farmed until his retirement. He has five children, 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
