Victor and Emily Germanis of Philadelphia, PA announce the birth of their first child, Annabelle Avery Germanis, August 7, 2014. She weighed 8 lbs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth.
Grandparents are Dana and the late Dale Peters of Glendora, NJ and Victor and Linda Germanis of Pennsylvania. Great-grandparents are Mary and the late Robert Peters of Lansing and Robert and Babe Wagner of New Jersey.

Melissa Beneke and DJ Niccum of La Crescent, MN announce the birth of their son, Chase David Niccum, June 27, 2014 at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. He weighed 6 lbs., 8 ozs. and measured 18-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth.
Grandparents are Arne and Janet Beneke of New Albin, Linda Niccum of Cochrane, WI and Dave and Pat Niccum of Cochrane, WI. Great-grandmother is Rose Marie Winters of Waukon.

Lyle and Cindy (Flage) Leikvold were married October 12, 1974 at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon. They plan to celebrate the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
They have two children, Kerri (Chris) Gibbs and Todd (Brianne) Leikvold. They also have three granddaughters, Kaylee, Kiersten and Kendra Gibbs, and are expecting the arrival of a grandson in December.

Jim and Alyce (Gordon) May were married October 4, 1974 in Waukon. They celebrated the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary with a Mississippi riverboat cruise.
They have three children, James (Leslie) May of Waterloo, Joe (Jill) May of Grundy Center and Jonathan (Nicki) May of Ankeny. They have seven grandchildren, Jaylin, James, Justice, Jake, Casey, Michael and Lukas.

The Winke family reunion will be held Sunday, October 12 at Zalmona Presbyterian Church. A potluck dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a “white elephant” gift for Bingo.

Jennifer and Joseph Mohn of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their son, Dylan Joseph Mohn, September 24, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs., 11 ozs. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins two siblings, Austyn (4) and Easton (3).
Grandparents are Nick and Lois Jones of Waukon and Ralph and Diane Mohn of Harpers Ferry. Great-grandmother is Florence Jones of Harpers Ferry.

LaNay Klein and Tory Lessard of Waterville announce the birth of their daughter, Tamari Marie Lessard, September 17, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs., 7.6 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Candyce (7).
Grandparents are Greg Klein and Paula Hitchcock of Waukon and Brett and Brenda Lessard of Waterville. Great-grandparents are Darlene Klein and Gary Klein, both of Waukon.

Amy Schwartzhoff and Ben Ghelf were united in marriage June 14, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing by Father John Moser. The bride is the daughter of Stan and Dianna Schwartzhoff of Lansing and the granddaughter of Jim and Kay Hawes. The groom is the son of Ralph and Linda Ghelf of De Soto, WI and the grandson of Doris Koll.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Maid of Honor Erika Schwartzhoff, friend of the bride, and bridesmaids Donna Schwartzhoff and Ashley Schwartzhoff, both sisters-in-law of the bride, and friends of the bride Christina Verdon and Jocelyn Johnson. The Flower Girl was Faith Lange, niece and goddaughter of the groom. Usherettes were Amber DeCesare, sister of the groom, and Stacie Sanborn, cousin of the groom.

Roger and Diann Benzing of Gays Mills, WI were married October 10, 1964 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Garnavillo. They plan to celebrate the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, October 10 with a dance at the Natural Gait Lodge/Arena (located between Harpers Ferry and Monona at 274 Burger Road) from 6 to 10 p.m. Music will be provided by The Sounds of Nashville Band. All family and friends are welcome.
The couple has six children, Darren (Patty) Benzing of Solon, Ryan Benzing of McGregor, Dawn (Kevin) Langreck of Ridgeway, Rachell (Arlyn) Adney of Monona, Danette (Shawn) Gibbs of Waterville and Ryland (Shannon) Benzing of Waukon. They have 16 grandchildren.

Frank Thyer of Randalia will celebrate his 95th birthday October 7. He was born October 7, 1919 at Volga. He is a lifelong Volga and Randalia area resident where he farmed until his retirement. He has five children, 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
