Hudson, Welsh to wed Oct. 11

Brooke Hudson and Clayton Welsh, both of Lansing, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. They plan to exchange vows October 11 at the Welsh Family Organic Farm in Lansing. A reception will be held following the ceremony at TJ Hunters Banquet Center in Lansing.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Deb Olson of Iowa City and Larry Hudson of Centerville. She is a 2007 graduate of Iowa City High School and a 2013 graduate of Upper Iowa University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She is currently employed by the Allamakee Community School District as a teacher at Waterville Elementary.
The groom-elect is the son of Gary and Kim Welsh of Lansing. He is a 2007 graduate of Kee High School in Lansing and a 2009 graduate of the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, FL. He is currently employed at the Welsh Family Organic Farm.

Jim & Andrea Boardman to celebrate 50th anniversary

The children of Jim and Andrea Boardman will host an open house to celebrate the couple’s golden wedding anniversary Saturday, September 13 from 1-4 p.m. at the Bright Spot in De Soto, WI. Livingood family reunion scheduled for September 14

Descendants of Edwin and Mathilda Livingood will gather for a family reunion Sunday, September 14 (note the date change). A potluck meal will be served at noon with coffee and drink furnished at the Community Room at Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank in Waukon. Those planning to attend are asked to bring their own table service and a dish to pass. Family members are asked to spread the word about this upcoming reunion.

Andrew and Heidi Carlton of The Colony, TX announce the birth of their son, William Wesley Carlton, July 15, 2014 at Plano Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, TX. He weighed 8 lbs., 9 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins his brother, Henry (3).
Grandparents are Robert and Karen Carlton of Waukon and Teri and Dennis Struble of Runnells. Great-grandparents are Marguerite Vandagriff of Fort Dodge and Janet Harmon of Berwick.

Darcie and Jason Kopischke of Urbandale announce the birth of their daughter, Sadie Anne Kopischke, July 30, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She weighed 10 lbs., 6 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins five siblings, Noah (14), Ben (12), Abbie (10), Sean (9) and Daniel (6).
Grandparents are Bill and Mardy Kopischke of Minnetonka, MN and Dean and Mary Jackson of Waukon. Sadie shares her birthday with her great-grandmother, Edith Johnson of Spring Grove, MN.

Kimberly Flora Moeller of Westby, WI announces the birth of twins, Damaris Rose Moeller-Huggins and Malachi Fitzhugh Moeller-Huggins, August 11, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Damaris weighed 8 lbs., 12 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth; Malachi weighed 8 lbs., 14 ozs. and measured 21-1/4 inches in length at the time of his birth.
Grandparents are Saunnie Huggins of Westby, WI and Dick Moeller of Geneseo, IL. Great-grandparents are Don and Louise Luth of Joelton, TN, Marge Jarvis of Zephyrhills, FL and Norman Olson of Irving, TX.

Manning, Mitchell joined in marriage at May 10 ceremony

Autumn Manning and Todd Mitchell were married May 10, 2014 at the Bechtel Home Farm on Whitetail Drive overlooking the Mississippi River in Lansing. Long-time family friend and officiate Ed Stahl presided over the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Andrea Mueller of Lansing and Daniel Manning of Prairie du Chien, Wl. The groom is the son of Mary and Jim Mitchell of Waukon.
August Manning was Maid of Honor for her sister; Terry Mitchell, brother of the groom, was Best Man; the Bridesmaid was Winter Manning, sister of the bride; Groomsman, and handler of  the ring bearer, Thompson Center (the couple’s Black Lab), was Michael Handke, friend of the couple. Brooke Mitchell, daughter of the bride and groom, was the Flower Girl. Fathers of the bride and groom, Daniel Manning and Jim Mitchell, concluded the ceremony by the firing of shotguns.

Christianson, Burrett to wed

Steve and Marie Christianson and Keith and Margaret Burrett, all of Waukon, announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their children, Kirsten Christianson and David Burrett. The couple plans to exchange vows September 13 at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon. A reception will be held following the ceremony at the Fairgrounds Pavilion in Waukon, with an 8 p.m. dance open to the public at that same location.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Kirkwood Community College with degrees in Criminal Justice and American Sign Language. She is currently employed at Waukon Veterinary Service.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Kirkwood Community College with a degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently employed by the City of Waukon.
