Jennifer and Joseph Mohn of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their son, Dylan Joseph Mohn, September 24, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs., 11 ozs. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins two siblings, Austyn (4) and Easton (3).
Grandparents are Nick and Lois Jones of Waukon and Ralph and Diane Mohn of Harpers Ferry. Great-grandmother is Florence Jones of Harpers Ferry.

LaNay Klein and Tory Lessard of Waterville announce the birth of their daughter, Tamari Marie Lessard, September 17, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs., 7.6 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Candyce (7).
Grandparents are Greg Klein and Paula Hitchcock of Waukon and Brett and Brenda Lessard of Waterville. Great-grandparents are Darlene Klein and Gary Klein, both of Waukon.

Amy Schwartzhoff and Ben Ghelf were united in marriage June 14, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing by Father John Moser. The bride is the daughter of Stan and Dianna Schwartzhoff of Lansing and the granddaughter of Jim and Kay Hawes. The groom is the son of Ralph and Linda Ghelf of De Soto, WI and the grandson of Doris Koll.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Maid of Honor Erika Schwartzhoff, friend of the bride, and bridesmaids Donna Schwartzhoff and Ashley Schwartzhoff, both sisters-in-law of the bride, and friends of the bride Christina Verdon and Jocelyn Johnson. The Flower Girl was Faith Lange, niece and goddaughter of the groom. Usherettes were Amber DeCesare, sister of the groom, and Stacie Sanborn, cousin of the groom.

Roger and Diann Benzing of Gays Mills, WI were married October 10, 1964 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Garnavillo. They plan to celebrate the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, October 10 with a dance at the Natural Gait Lodge/Arena (located between Harpers Ferry and Monona at 274 Burger Road) from 6 to 10 p.m. Music will be provided by The Sounds of Nashville Band. All family and friends are welcome.
The couple has six children, Darren (Patty) Benzing of Solon, Ryan Benzing of McGregor, Dawn (Kevin) Langreck of Ridgeway, Rachell (Arlyn) Adney of Monona, Danette (Shawn) Gibbs of Waterville and Ryland (Shannon) Benzing of Waukon. They have 16 grandchildren.

Frank Thyer of Randalia will celebrate his 95th birthday October 7. He was born October 7, 1919 at Volga. He is a lifelong Volga and Randalia area resident where he farmed until his retirement. He has five children, 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Jacob and Katie Vorwald of Monona announce the birth of their daughter, Karrigan Jane Vorwald, September 15, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8.7 lbs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth.
Grandparents are Dan and Kay Vorwald and Dody Huinker, all of Monona. Great-grandparents are Harold and Joanne Vorwald and  Belva Gramlich of Monona.

Kaitlin Mulholland and Tony LeCount of Ames announce the birth of their daughter, Rae Marie LeCount, September 12, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth.
Grandparents are Dan and Cathy Mulholland of Lansing and Glen and Jamie LeCount of Jewell. Great-grandparents are Barb Mulholland and Tom Guider of Lansing and Pete and Shirley Costello of Union Mills, IN.

Jordan and Hannah Young of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Kinley Fae Young, September 15, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs., 3.8 ozs. and measured 19.5 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a brother, Colton (2).
Grandparents are Dean and Rhonda Hovden of Decorah, Willet and Rhonda Young of Decorah and Dennis and Kimberly Nath of Rochester, MN. Great-grandparents are Jesse and LaVonne Young of Waukon, Gerald and the late Dorthy Schacht of Decorah, Marvin and the late Donna Hovden of Decorah and Ron and Diane Siebrands of Mason City.

Amanda and Josh Howes of Monona announce the birth of their daughter, Hadley Lynn Howes, July 22, 2014 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. She weighed 7 lbs., 3 ozs. and measured 17 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a brother, Will (6).
Grandparents are Jim and Lindy Howes of Waukon and Bill and Jackie Hilleshiem of Waterville.

Kari Schildroth of La Porte City and Lance Murphy of Waukon announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. They plan to exchange vows November 1, 2014 at Hickory Hills State Park in La Porte City. The couple will reside together in North Liberty.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Ed and Wanda McFarland of La Porte City and the late John Schildroth. She is a 2011 graduate of Allen College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and is currently employed as a labor and delivery postpartum nurse at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.
The groom-elect is the son of Brian and Sue Murphy of Waukon. He is a graduate of Kirkwood Community College with a degree in Architectural Technology and is currently employed as an assistant architect at Novak Design Group, PLC in Cedar Rapids.
