A family reunion will be held for the families of William and Ellen Manton Saturday, August 6 at the Wexford Hall. A luncheon will be held from 1-5 p.m.

The Manton ancestors came from Ireland in the 1850s. The Manton family included Mary, Sister M. Ramona, Catherine, Joseph, Martin, Thomas and William. All descendants are cordially invited to attend this family reunion.

Tony and Brittany Beneke of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Karsyn Dee Beneke, born May 31, 2022 in La Crosse, WI. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 ozs. at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Kenleigh (6).

Grandparents are Keith and Faye Beneke, Rob Johnson, and Casey and Lynn Larson. Great-grandparents are Wayne and the late Bonnie Johnson and Robert and Gloria Hanson.

Hannah Davis and Russ Brandt of Postville announce the birth of their daughter, Veronica Mae Eleanor Brandt, born May 9, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 2 ozs. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a brother, Jacobe.

Grandparents are Clyde and Mari Davis of Lincoln, NE and Bob and Beth Brandt of Postville.

Ron and Linda Dahlstrom of Waukon are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple exchanged vows July 8, 1972. The public is welcome to attend a celebration Saturday, July 9 from 5-8 p.m. at the Sweeney Pavilion in the Waukon City Park.

The 63rd annual reunion of the Bulman, Hartley and Beardmore families is scheduled for Sunday, July 17 at the Community Center in Eitzen, MN. A potluck meal will be served at 12:30 p.m. with a meeting and social time to follow.

The five Bulman ancestors who came to America from Little Thetford, England in the 1850s were Thomas, George, William, John and their sister, Mary Bulman Sadler. All descendants of these early settlers are cordially invited to attend this reunion meal. Beverages will be provided. Those planning to attend are asked to bring food to share, their own table service, family pictures and stories. This year a scanner will be available for copying photos, negatives and slides. We will also have room behind the center to show off collector vehicles and there will be door prizes.

This year’s feature display is about the three Bulman brothers who served in World War II. The story takes them from Postville to Alaska to Africa and a German stalag.

Larry and Cindy (Winters) Olson of Gunder are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple married July 1, 1972 at Frankville Presbyterian Church in Frankville.

They are the parents of Heather (Dan) Scannell of Cedar Falls and Jarrod (Kelli) Olson of Waukon. They have three grandchildren, Anna Scannell and Addie and Jase Olson.

Devin and Paige Brennan of Lansing announce the birth of their son, Callan Martin Brennan, born June 12, 2022 in La Crosse, WI. He weighed 8 lbs. 9 ozs. at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Rowan (2).

Dylan Mullikin and Serenity Visgar of Merrill, WI announce the birth of their son, Jaxson Lee Mullikin, born June 19, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 7 ozs. and measured 18-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Adley Visgar (2).

Grandparents are Scott and Sandra Gander of Boscobel, WI, Bruce and Cheryl Mullikin of Waukon, and Ben and Angie Clason of Merrill, WI. Great-grandparents are Bob and Carol Mullikin of Wauzeka, WI and Vickie Shell of Soldiers Grove, WI.

Preston and Leiah Burroughs of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Daniel Cade Bryer Burroughs, born June 20, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 8 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Evalyn Burroughs (11 months).

Grandparents are Darren and Angela Burroughs of Rossville and Sarah Gambrell of Fort Atkinson. Great-grandparents are Wendy and Mike Kimber of Waukon, Lorna Burroughs of Waukon, and John and Shirley Forbes of Harpers Ferry.

Caitlin and Troy Friederich of Postville announce the birth of their son, Dawson Scott Friederich, born June 13, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sibling, Mollie (a chocolate lab - 8 months).
