Ruby celebrated her 80th birthday November 21 with her family. She and her husband, Nyles, have four children, Brad, Kim, Brent and Brian, as well as 11 grandchildren and 10 great-granchildren.

Emmett and Marjorie Kruger were married November 28, 1984. They plan to celebrate the occasion of their 30th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.

They have seven children, 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Troendle-

Jess and Rita Troendle of Windsor Heights announce the birth of their son, August James Troendle, October 7, 2014 at Unity Point Hospital in Des Moines. He weighed 7 lbs., 12 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Meyer-

Mike and Michelle Meyer of Postville announce the birth of their son, Parker John Meyer, November 16, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9.86 lbs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins two siblings, Hunter (9) and Landon (5).

Hartson-

Noah and Sara Hartson of Aplington announce the birth of their son, James Duane Hartson, September 29, 2014 in Waterloo. He weighed 8 lbs., 6 ozs. and measured 20.5 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sibling, Adeline.

Grandparents are James and Shirley Stortz of Waukon, Mike and Sharon Hartson of Postville and Lorri Pladsen of Rossville.

Conway-

Bryce and Amanda Conway are proud to announce the birth of their son, Myles Robert Conway, October 17, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.  He weighed 6 lbs., 14 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth.  He was welcomed home by his big brother, Daynan, and his big sister, Harlyn.

Marlene Imhoff-Duffy of Lansing, James Duffy of La Crosse, WI and Roger Valley of La Crosse, WI, and Cynthia Opperman of Clarinda and Todd Lapel of Lansing announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Chandran Marie Duffy and Andrew Wayne Lapel, both of Cedar Rapids. The couple plans to exchange vows March 28, 2015 at All Saints Church in Cedar Rapids. A reception will be held following the ceremony at the DoubleTree hotel in downtown Cedar Rapids.

The family of Ruby Herman will host an open house in honor of her 80th birthday Sunday, November 30 in the Fellowship Hall at Zalmona Presbyterian Church (371 Hwy. 9, southwest of Waukon) from 11:30 a.m. (after the worship service) until 2:30 p.m. A meal will be provided. All of Ruby’s friends and family are invited to attend. Ruby’s birthday is November 21. She requests no gifts.

Kimberly Kay Gavin and Paul William Kockler were united in marriage July 26, 2014. The wedding was held at Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing with Father John Moser as officiant.

The bride is the daughter of Pat and Kay Gavin of Lansing. The groom is the son of Mike and Janelle Kockler of Altoona.
