Christian and Lindsay Hershner of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Nora Grace Hershner, May 16, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs., 11 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Olivia (2).
Grandparents are Wendy Waldron, Larry Stott and Al Snitker, all of Waukon, and Martin and Jennifer Hershner of Smyrna, GA. Great-grandmother is Harriet Snitker of Waukon.

Mitchell and Stephanie Lancaster announce the birth of their son, Brayden James Lancaster, March 18, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport. He weighed 7 lbs., 2 ozs. and measured 19-1/2 inches long at the time of his birth.  
Grandparents are Ken and Kristen Kruger and Jim and Camilla Lancaster, all of DeWitt. Great-grandparents are James and Sharon Lancaster of DeWitt, Grace Kenney of Grand Mound, Kenneth DeVore of Corydon and the late Ben and Joan Kruger.

Becky Hackett and the late Brent Hackett of Harpers Ferry and Mike and Linda Ferring of Waukon announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Danielle Hackett and Caleb Ferring, both of Coralville. The couple plans to exchange vows June 21 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon.
The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate of Waukon Senior High and is currently attending the University of Iowa where she is majoring in Radiation Sciences. She is currently employed at James Van Allen Elementary as a youth counselor.

Kenneth and Norma (Weston) Perry of Waukon will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary June 7. They were married at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Elgin.
The couple has three sons, Kenneth Dale (Shellie), Kirk Duane (Brenda) and Kyle Darren (Jeannie); three grandchildren, Sean (Ashli), Shannon and Tyler; and one great-grandson, Jakoby Perry.
An open house will be hosted by their children in the Community Room at Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank in Waukon from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 7. They request no gifts.

Doug and Harriet (Mast) Sharp were married June 12, 1964 at the EUB Church in Cedar Falls. They plan to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Kerndt Brothers Savings Bank Community Center in Lansing Sunday, June 1 from 2-4 p.m. A special family event will be hosted by their children later.
Harriet retired from teaching in the Cedar Falls Community Schools, then served as a substitute teacher for 13 years in Waukon and Lansing.

Owen and Mildred (Powell) Myhre will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Fest Building in Spring Grove, MN Saturday, May 31 from 2-5 p.m. There will be a short program at 3 p.m. and live music by the Star Liters from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to join the Myhres in celebrating the occasion.

Gene and Pat Klinge of Harpers Ferry will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Spillway Supper Club in Harpers Ferry Saturday, June 7 from 3-7 p.m. All family and friends are welcome.
