Karli Miller and Jason Schmelzer of Calmar are happy to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 27 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar. A reception and dance will follow at Echo Valley Banquet and Reception Center in West Union.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Don and Judy Miller of Postville. She graduated from John R. Mott High School in 2008 and earned an Associate of Arts degree in Corrections from Hawkeye Community College in 2010 and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services with a minor in Psychology from Upper Iowa University in 2012.  She is currently employed by Northeast Iowa Community Action working as a Family Development and Self Sufficiency Specialist.

The Wendland family reunion has been scheduled for Sunday, June 14 at Walt and Jan Wendland’s cabin near Fredericksburg (2726 250th St., Fredericksburg. From Fredericksburg go one mile west, then two miles north, then 1/4 mile east to the corner of 250th Street and Quinlan where the cabin is located).
The potluck will start at 12 noon. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a dish to pass.
Those planning to attend are also invited to bring a fishing pole and a lawn chair for use at the pond near the back of the cabin.

Adam and Jennifer Bieber of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Quinn Lydia Bieber, May 6, 2015 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs., 10 ozs. and measured 19-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins two siblings, Sean (10) and Hudson (1).
Grandparents are Jay and the late Judy Erb and Sheryl and the late Dan Bieber, all of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Norma Bloxham and Peter Bieber, both of Waukon, Nyla DeSotal of Lansing and Ronnie and Judy Erb of Baton Rouge, LA.

Travis and Missy Flack of Postville announce the birth of their daughter, Lucy Eva Flack, May 15, 2015 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs., 13 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins four siblings, Spencer (20), Trenten (13), Dylan (9) and Jeffery (1).
Grandparents are Dave and Pauline Flack of Postville and Dave and Bev Atkinson of Edgewood. Great-grandparents are Ethel Flack of Postville, Velma Atkinson of Edgewood and Dortha Hastings of Edgewood.

Brock and Megan Thompson of Monona announce the birth of their daughter, Kinsey Jo Thompson, May 19, 2015 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs., 1 oz. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins two siblings, Marshall (2) and April (6).
Grandparents are Jim Thompson of Monona and Tammie Severson of St. Olaf. Great-grandparents are Don and Shirley Marmann of Farmersburg, Virgil and Mary Lou Thompsonof Monona and Hazel Koehn of St. Olaf.

Paige Cota of McGregor announces the birth of her son, Wrangler John Cota, May 14, 2015 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs., 7 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth.
Grandparents are John and Dana Cota of Harpers Ferry. Great-grandparents are Lennie and Linda Burke of Dorchester and Jim Cota of Harpers Ferry.

Erin and Ben Mettille of Lansing announce the birth of their daughter, Ireland Leigh Mettille, May 3, 2015 in La Crosse, WI. She weighed 7 lbs., 13.8 ozs. and measured 19-3/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins four siblings, Isabelle (7), Irey (5), Eliyas (3) and Ezrah (2).
Grandparents are Dale and Sue Lansing of Ossian and Jim and Connie Mettille of Lansing.

Troy Joseph Knox and Stacey Ann Monteith of Decorah were married May 9, 2015 at their country home.
The bride is the daughter of Carmen Heying of Cresco and Louis Heying of Calmar. She is employed at The Standard Newspaper in Waukon as a graphic designer and advertising representative. She brings two sons into the marriage, Logan and Nathan Monteith.
The groom is the son of Helen and Zeno Kappes of Burr Oak and the late Earl Knox. He is currently a senior business analyst at Acxiom Corporation.
The family resides in rural Decorah.

Leanne Marie Christensen and Benjamin Joseph Gansen announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. They plan to exchange vows June 6 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon.
 The bride-elect is the daughter of Tom and Julie Christensen of Lansing and the granddaughter of Jim and Kay Christensen of Lansing and Jim and Karen (and the late Theresa) McCormick of Waukon. She is a 2005 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. She is currently employed as a Patient Care Coordinator at VGM Homelink in Waterloo.
The groom-elect is the son of Mike and Joyce (and the late Elizabeth) Gansen of Greene and the grandson of Gerald and Marge Gansen of Riceville and the late Chester and Miriam Rouchka of Cresco. He is a 2004 graduate of North Butler High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. He is currently employed as a Manufacturing Engineer at GMT Corporation in Nashua.

Bill Moody and Pat Bulman were married June 8, 1965 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Paint Rock, rural Harpers Ferry. They are the parents of Mike (Jackie), Laurie and Shawn Moody. They have six grandchildren, Dustin, Cody, Cole, Tanner, Faith and Blain Moody.
They plan to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house, hosted by their family, Sunday, June 7 at the Community Center in Harpers Ferry from 1-5 p.m. The couple requests no gifts.
