The Waukon High School Class of 1945 held its 70-year class reunion August 29 at the home of Ozzie and Phyllis Quandahl in Waukon, who provided the noon luncheon. Thirteen class members and 14 guests were in attendance. The chairpersons were Ozzie Quandahl, Berdell Meiners and Roger Lonning.

Attending from out of town were Willard and Shirley Meyer, Dorchester; Marjorie (Rolfs) and Emmett Kruger, Postville; Betty (Bulman) Snitker and daughter, Jan Croskrey, Cedar Rapids; Berdell Meiners and his sister, Grace Bulman, Caledonia, MN; Roger and Marjorie Lonning and son, Steven, Albert Lea, MN; Jim and Beth Whalen, Augusta, WI.

Jessica Kann and Jeremiah McArthur of McGregor announce the birth of their daughter, Aliyah Miah McArthur, September 19, 2015 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 5 lbs., 4.6 ozs. and measured 19-/12 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Annaka McArthur (5).
Grandparents are Todd Kann and Sally Kann of Marquette and Glen and Patti Snodgrass of McGregor. Great-grandparents are Ray and Lola Childs of Marquette.

Jodi and Dustin Egeland of Ossian announce the birth of their son, Hudson Buck Egeland, September 1, 2015 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs., 15.4 ozs. and measured 23 inches in length at the time of his birth.
Grandparents are Jeff and Penny Sweeney of Waukon and Roger and Joan Egeland of Ossian. Great-grandparents are Audrey and the late Buck Ranzenberger of Caledonia, MN, the late Ray and Monica Sweeney, Don and Marilyn Egeland of Ossian and Lucille and the late Cletus Holthaus of Ossian.

A reunion of the Halvorson, Leiran, Busness and Sorum families will be held Saturday, October 10 beginning at 12 noon with a potluck meal. The reunion has been moved to the Robert Kolsrud farm in rural Waukon.
Family members are asked to bring stories and pictures to share and to let other family members know about this upcoming reunion.
There will also be a church service Sunday, October 11 at Old West Paint Creek Church at 9 a.m. with brunch to follow.

Daniel and Jaime Piedot of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Abigail Piedot, September 15, 2015 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs., 11.2 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins two siblings, Marie and Alexander.

Josh and Brit Voshage of Winona, MN announce the birth of their son, Max David Voshage, September 15, 2015 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs., 1 oz. and measured 22-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins two sisters, Bricelyn (3) and Lily (2).
Grandparents are Joan and Gary David of Waukon, Perry and Carol Voshage of Winona, MN and Jill Bradley of Winona, MN. Great-grandparents are Phyllis Welch of Waukon, Donald David of Barron, WI and Mary and Norman Clark of Kirbyville, TX.

Ronnie and Jennifer Staggemeyer of Eitzen, MN announce the birth of their son, Blake Evan Staggemeyer, July 29, 2015 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. He weighed 6 lbs., 5 ozs. and measured 19-1/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Leighton (2).
Grandparents are Steve and Sheryl Evanson of Waterville and Lambert and Joyce Staggemeyer of Eitzen, MN. Great-grandmothers are Helen Evanson of Waukon and Evelyn Meyer of Lansing.

Dustin Deeny and Tina Dierks of Des Moines, together with their parents, Brian and Kay Deeny of Waukon, Mina Dierks of Iowa City and Eldon Dierks of Black River Falls, WI, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. An outdoor ceremony, reception and dance will be held at Green Valley Getaway in Waukon Saturday, October 10.

Phillip and Joyce Smith of Duluth, MN announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Holly Andrea Marie, to Heath Michael Wenig, son of Duane and Lela Wenig of Dorchester. A September 26 wedding is planned in rural Houston, MN.
The bride-elect is a Veterinary Technician at Decorah Veterinary Clinic in Decorah and the groom-elect is farming the family farm in rural Dorchester.
