Angela and Lucas Schall of Granger announce the birth of their son, Rogan Joseph Schall, September 29, 2015 at Boone County Hospital in Boone. He weighed 7 lbs., 10 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth.. He joins a sister, Harper (2).
Grandparents are Clark and Char Stilwell of Waukon and Joe and Diane Schall of Ogden. Great-grandmother is Jean Coffman of Sheldahl.

Byrnes, Moose to wed Oct. 31

Shelby Byrnes and Jarred Moose, both of Monona, are happy to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. They plan to exchange vows October 31 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon.  A reception and dance will follow at the Fairgrounds Pavilion in Waukon.  
The bride-elect is the daughter of Barb Byrnes of Harpers Ferry and Wayne Byrnes of Waukon. She is a 2009 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and a 2014 graduate of Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI. She is currently employed at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, WI as a Dietitian.
The groom-elect is the son of Jim and Lesa Moose of Monona. He is a 2006 graduate of MFL MarMac High School.  He is currently engaged in farming and also works for Vorwald Enterprises in Monona.

Grandparents are Nancy Schoh and Randy and Marty Beneke. Great-grandparents are Leon and Jane Schoh and Violet Beneke.

Jennifer and Brent Ness of Williamsburg announce the birth of their son, Colton Howard Ness, October 10, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. He weighed 8 lbs., 12-1/2 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins three siblings, Lillianne (6), Madison (4) and Vivian (2).
Grandparents are Barbara and Sigurd Ness of Waukon and Linda and Dan Hawkins of Dallas Center. Great-grandmothers are Joyce Kuhse of Postville and Lorraine Pergande of Eagle Grove.

Lenz, Ware joined in marriage during October 9 ceremony

Family and friends gathered together Friday, October 9 at 3:30 p.m. for the wedding ceremony of Jill Lenz and Rocky Ware. The ceremony took place at the Squaw Creek Recreational Area in Marion.
Penny Adair, sister of the bride, was the Maid of Honor and Ken Ware, brother of the groom, was the Best Man.
Parents of the bride are Roger and Jo Lenz of Lansing. The groom’s mother is Rebecca Harmon of Cedar Rapids.
Jill works at Transamerica as an IT Manager and Rocky works at Mortenson Construction of Minneapolis, MN as an operating engineer erecting wind turbines.
They will make their home with their son, Grant, in Cedar Rapids.

Janette and Gerald Ryder-Blong to celebrate 25th anniversary

Janette and Gerald Ryder-Blong of Waukon will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Sunday, November 1 beginning with a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon. A dinner will be served following the Mass at the Vets Club in Waukon and the Toe Tappers will perform from 1-3 p.m.

Bob and Cathy Zahn of Waukon are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married October 16, 1965 at St. George Catholic Church in Lansing. They have three children and nine grandchildren.

Open house celebration planned for Lawrence Benda’s retirement

An open house celebration will be held Sunday, November 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Waukon (19 First Avenue NE) in honor of Lawrence Benda’s retirement. Benda has worked for the Allamakee Community School District Transportation Department since 1972 and has also worked on the Veterans Memorial Hospital ambulance crew since 1989.
